I am a volunteer at the shop I work in (all but 2 of the 140 people who work there are volunteers - one of the paid staff is, unsurprisingly, paid to coordinate the hordes of volunteers) and last night I closed on my own and cashed up. I suppose it might be relevant to note here that I'm also the treasurer, so I'm arguably the person who is most invested in getting the count right.

I got the impression that Marigold ran away because she saw Faye walk in (edit: she didn't run away due to anything Dale did). It seems like she was embarrassed that Faye saw them making out. Pretty reasonable for someone who's inexperienced.

Or she may just have realised that she had no idea what to do next, and panicked. Anyway, I am sure it was not anything Dale did. But of course Dale would think so.
