if you're doing it for the fun of it then I agree.  But it looks like he is preparing food.  The crab has to die for that to happen.

If something was going to kill and eat me, I really would prefer it was over with quickly even if I would taste delicious if boiled alive :/

No, really, if you start killing the crab any other way it just gets messy and if you do it wrong the juice will float out of it and yeah. They're big insects, basically, so I don't really feel for them that much.

They're not insects, crustacea is a distinct subphylum of arthropoda.

Crabs tend to pull others back into the big tubs they are kept in at fishmongers as well.

Hence why "tall poppy syndrome" is also sometimes colloquially called "Crab Bucket".

The two things I got from that article of fucking awesome analogies:

1- There's a lot of kids out there enamoured with Douglas Adams, and that is unequivocally a good thing
2- English teachers are humourless motherfuckers

I don't know. Stephen Dunn, who's an English professor, liked the one about hummingbirds so much he made a poem about it.

John & Mary

"John & Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who also had never met."
—from a freshman's short story

~ Stephen Dunn

They were like gazelles who occupied different
grassy plains, running in opposite directions
from different lions. They were like postal clerks
in different zip codes, with different vacation time,
their bosses adamant and clock-driven.
How could they get together?
They were like two people who couldn't get together.
John was a Sufi with a love of the dervish,
Mary of course a Christian with a curfew.
They were like two dolphins in the immensity
of the Atlantic, one playful,
the other stuck in a tuna net—
two absolutely different childhoods!
There was simply no hope for them.
They would never speak in person.
When they ran across that windswept field
toward each other, they were like two freight trains,
one having left Seattle at 6:36 P.M.
at an unknown speed, the other delayed
in Topeka for repairs.
The math indicated that they'd embrace
in another world, if at all, like parallel lines.
Or merely appear kindred and close, like stars.

Mini-battleships slugging it out?  Hell yeah I'd do that.

I actually envisioned doing something like this when I was around 10 years old; scale model RC battleships shooting the hell out of each other, except with .22 rounds instead of ball bearings.
