Yeah, I find the stuff about Bruce Lee's conditioning and work out obsessions more interesting than a lot of the claims about his prowess, since a lot of stuff about him doesn't really pass the sniff test. And yeah, there's a lot of things about film that make it tough to trust your eyes, and it's not always just about trying to play someone's hand speed up, either. For example, I've read before that in some Hong Kong films they'd have guys move a bit slower but film at a lower frame rate to more or less compensate. It wasn't so much that the actors couldn't move fast, but rather that it was just a helluva lot easier to choreograph that shit if everybody wasn't running around flailing like maniacs.
