Pearl Jam on the other hand, not so much. There was something like 10,000 people gathered on one lawn to see them (the rest were on the other side of the fairgrounds watching Jeff Beck) and everyone seemed to be thinking "oh man! we're about to see a legendary grunge band" but then they started playing and everyone realized "oh shit, that band is fucking Pearl Jam, never mind"
They played a decent cover of Kick Out the Jams though.
I had to go to the show the night after that. It was pretty bad. But the pre-show party raised $2,850 for Care Of Poor People. The next night was in St. Louis, and I trading off gioing to see them again to babysit 6 kids, from ages 4 to 12, and also drink Sam Smith and watch Super Mario Bros Super Show. It was a good decision. But our pre-show party there raised $3,132 for TTTS! So that was awesome. $1,000 of that was for a signed poster that we auctioned off.
