I always think it's fun on St Patrick's day to figure out who is wearing green for the occasion, and who is just wearing green because that is the first thing they found that morning.

I very deliberately wore no green to the office today and plainly said "So go ahead and pinch me" to everyone who commented on the absence of emerald in my attire. It was a bit of an experiment in perception because I really wanted to see how many people would do it. The answer is.... One. I bet if I was a cute girl and not a big scary dude I would have gotten pinched a whole bunch.

I didn't wear green because I had work most of the day (so I was wearing black) and then I wore my black spotty dress because I haven't worn it for a while and I like it a lot.

I am Irish enough without having to wear green on St Paddy's Day to show it.

I actually had no idea it was St. Patrick's Day but for some reason wore my only green shirt anyways.

I didn't wear any green either. I considered it briefly the night before, and almost wore a greeny silk scarf. It was okay though because nobody at work was wearing green either and not a word was said about St Pat's.

I think the plumbers who came round to fix my toilet yesterday were wearing green. But it was that fluorescent hi-vis vest green so I don't think that counts. They did bring a snake, though, which I guess when they'd finishing cleaning the tree roots out of the pipes was then driven (literally) away from the house, so maybe that counts for something.

Goths are exempt from St. Patrick's Day duties, it's in the rules.

I wore olive green which I'm pretty sure don't count.

I am working a St. Patrick's night celebration this saturday, Guiness will be £2 a pint, Jamesons £2 a double. It could be just awful, it could be super fun. The only good thing is I do not have to dress up. I was forced to wear this:

One year. Dirty Ole pervs making remarks all night & cheering every time I had to bend over or down. Ugh. I did not make any more tips than usual either.

one of my friends who worked at a bar while we were both living in guelph had to do a similar thing one year. when she questioned her boss about whether any of the male staff were going to be forced to dress up as well, he admitted that he had purposely not scheduled any to work that day. how lovely that gender discrimination is still alive and well.

I don't understand. Are you saying that it is not the manager's fault that he deliberately scheduled only women to work, so that he could avoid having to justify his blatant discrimination? Or are you saying that he just didn't have the strength to resist overwhelming public desire to see bar staff wearing skimpy outfits?

Hey guys! I am going to Emilie Autumn tomorrow night (EXCITING) so I have a good excuse to drag out a vinyl corset and puffy dress and flounce around.
