Television characters are a poor example of what people actually look like in real life given that most television shows aspire to portray an alternate version of real life where everyone is more interesting, funny, and well dressed.

See pictures of Jens in army jackets for examples of Doing It Right.

Joe is not old in theoretical human years inferred from his appearance. He's just a really youthful, handsome looking ancient.

See: Keanu Reeves/Paul Monet vampire conspiracy theory.

Nodaisho:
I don't remember seeing pictures of Jens in an army jacket. Not all that recent, I hope.

(people are making Joe is old jokes, I can make Jens looks like a skinhead jokes)

Bootcut doesn't have to mean bellbottoms, I consider them much closer to straight leg than flared. The straight leg looks great if you are on the slim or slightly chunky side. It's when you get a bit heavier that bootcut is much better. Though really I like bootcut on any size.

Also I love flared jeans but find it almost impossible to find the super-flared type in my size. I have a giant ass and would like to offset it with giant pants. I used to wear the raver-style pants and actually still own a few pairs, but I'm thinking that they might be inappropriate for work and maybe regular life too. My favorite pair is still sitting in my dresser.. size 42 mens, with 44 inch leg openings, and back pockets from ass to ankles. When asked why I wore such large pants, I generally said "so I can steal children".

Papersatan:
I wear a lot of boot cut jeans.  I think they balance my big top half without looking silly.  Also I have the thickest calves and so even straight legs can be tighter than I like sometimes.  Also, in ladies jeans at least, boot cut seems to be a little longer since they think I am wearing them with heeled boots.  I am not crazy tall or anything (5' 7") but I have long legs.  My legs are actually the same length as Stephen's and he is 5' 11" and I find that jeans are just a smidge too short a lot of the time.

So I'm gonna take the flower off the dress, and prolly the belt loops too.  Should I keep their ribbon belt or just get a ribbon to tie, with a bow maybe?
