Dear forum of people whose opinions I trust,
I am picking out a suit for my wedding, and just a nice suit in general, and I really like this one: http://www.menswearhouse.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10051_10558_10601_166957_-1_10558_BROWN%20PLAID_10051_?cm_vc=40159

This is a two separate question post:
1. What color shirt should I wear with it?  I kind of think a blue shirt would look nice, but then I also need a tie.
2.  On another forum I frequent there was concern voiced that A) The suit was informal and a bad choice for the wedding, a matter than I'm not worried about since it isn't a strictly formal wedding. And B) that it may "wash me out"

I also need dress shoes for this, and was thinking brown with a square toe.  I already have a navy suit, so I want one that isn't the basic navy/black/charcoal and one that in my opinion more fits my style.  As an added bonus I'll add pictures of my suit and of just me now so you can make a judgement based on that.

Far right

Not sure you can even figure it out past the mustache.  Maybe I'll change this later.

Ballard:
Yeah, that's a good casual suit but even if it's an informal wedding, if you're gonna wear a suit at all you wanna be dressed to the fucking nines.

Frankly, I don't get the idea of a suit on the groom at all. Either go all out with a tux or put your own fashion spin on it but a suit is just so.. everyday for a day in your life that's only supposed to happen once.

Nodaisho:
If you get a suit, make sure to wear the pants like you are supposed to. It goes below your bellybutton, not on your hips. That's why there was that stacking at your ankles.

I can't really afford to be dressed to the nines honestly, and I know that suit was ill fitted, I kind of got it last minute.

Are there any suits that you suggest considering I like the idea of a brown suit quite a bit and it will be mostly for going to restaurants that require that/other peoples weddings?

Also part of the thing for a suit for the wedding for me is that I've been needing a suit that I'm happy to wear out and look somewhat like an adult and the wedding is a good excuse to buy one.

Lunchbox:
I think it's your wedding and you can wear whatever the hell you want.
Get your fiancée to help!

However I do agree that the suit you linked is a little too pale, with your fair hair it might, as you said, wash you out. I think you'd look really good in really dark navy but if you've already got one... tricky. Perhaps charcoal?
Also, if you add pinstripes be warned that it will automatically make your suit look less formal.

As for shirt colour, I think if you're gong for a black or blue suit a really dark coloured shirt looks excellent. If you're going brown definitely do a crisp white or really pale blue.

When you're looking at ties, make sure you get one that both goes with your shirt/suit AND with the girls' bridal colours.

Man, dressing guys formally is difficult! So glad I just have to put a dress on.
