Keep the shirt white, or pale cream, perhaps; put the colour and flamboyance into the tie - as much as you like, but if practical, coordinated with the dress.

Agreed. I have a few colored dress shirts that I wear with the couple of suits I own, but they're still damn near white.

Yes.
Andy, you do look great in those pictures you posted earlier, but that is entirely because you're really pretty, and because pictures cannot well capture how bad jeggings look in person. At best, they are inoffensive, at worst they are abominable. It's like short-sleeved collared shirts (in my opinion) - they will never improve how anyone looks.
