Man-sandals are generally weird. I have not seen a single pair that I do not find hideous. Most are like Birkenstocks, or the rubber and velcro type. Yuck.
Lines:
I don't mind laceless boots, but usually those boots are covered in buckles or have a zipper. Personally I prefer engineer boots or other types of motorcycle boots. Docs are also nice. Note: I don't know how weather proof any of these are, but I have a pair of combat-style boots and that's what I've been wearing in yucky weather because of the good traction and they are more waterproof than my other shoes. Also I think cowboy boots demand a certain level of dress for me. I hate it when men wear them with t-shirts - it looks really stupid.

Paul, I hate to break it to you, but laced man-sandals exist! They are pretty ugly but I think the laces actually serve a purpose on these.
