I'm not sure how much money they would save compared to a safety razor, which is what I currently want to get. I find that razors with more blades tend to get gummed up quickly and irritate my skin, so I'm using some single-bladed disposables. Safety razors are hard to find if you aren't buying off of the internet, since most places don't carry them anymore. They will still carry double edged razor blades, but not the handle.

It would definitely take a few years longer, but over the course of 50 years when you've never had to replace blades on your straight razor (assuming proper care of course) it would add up quite a bit. Keep in mind this is lifetime savings I'm talking about. Also they're classy as fuck.

Jimmy, all I was going on was the fact it was a Wahl, who make hairdresser-grade stuff, and that on the pack it said it was a hairdresser thing. It was definitely about $20 including a pack of 5 double-edge blades.

I definitely want one of those high-end fixed straight razors, I just don't want to pay the money for one or know that someone else did. As you say, they are classy as fuck, and it would feel great to be shaving with a premium quality setup & know that if you looked after it well then it would last nigh on forever, but I don't shave every day, and at the moment I really only shave my neck with the blade & buzz my face with my trimmer to leave stubble, 'cos I don't like the feel of my face clean-shaven.

It's because you're using precision tools on a daily basis, it is stupid for the public to get hairdresser grade scissors for example because you won't cut your hair every day. But when you're cutting multiple people's hair a day cheap ones get dull pretty fast. My mom used to have 300 dollar scissors and recently saved up to get 800 dollar ones because they make her job a lot easier.

I stopped shaving over the summer and it is really the best decision I have made, looks-wise, in years. I had a little goatee before, but now I have a full, lush beard and damned if it doesn't look so much better on me. And that is saying something coming from a guy who NEVER thinks he looks that good.

Hey, I am pretty snobby about some fashion things. It is ok. My friend wore furry ugg-lookin' boots the other day. I straight up told her they were ridiculous. She was rather displeased by my assessment, but it is the truth.

jeggings are probably not as durable or long-lasting as regular jeans but on the other hand, for women who aren't skinny (like me) jean shopping is frankly one of the absolute most horrible and demoralizing thing in the world in that it can take literally hours upon hours to find even a single pair of fucking jeans that fit well so like, in that respect i can really see the appeal of something stretchy that looks like jeans that you can just put on really painlessly and easily

While I was in the Ladies Room in a bar a few weeks ago, some girls were bonding over their respective love of jeggings. Apparently, they are great to wear out drinking as they stretch so you can drink more, but they are bad for random hook-ups because it is unattractive to have to peel them off to get down to business.

I like jeggings because I am fat but I also have narrow hips and a small bottom. It is hard to find womens' jeans at places like American Eagle or Levis that I can a) afford and b) fit me properly. These look enough like jeans but also do not stretch out and sag in the bum and fall off me because I have no hips to hold them up. They are probably pretty durable, honestly. I don't know what you do in your jeans, but I can see these lasting me for some time. I have a pair of regular leggings that have been working pretty well for me for over a year, so what would make these any different?

I shovel horse shit and play with dogs in my jeans. I feel like leggings would not like me wiping my disgusting hands all over them or rolling around in the mud and grass all the time.

Also I wear them [clean] to class most days. I guess if that is all they are for, then they would probably work.

again, not to guilt you or anything but you are skinny and skinny women tend to have a much easier time jean shopping than women with more unconventional body shapes. i have the opposite body type of allison, my waist is small but i have a big butt and big knees and big calves and jean shopping is the absolute worst because by the time i can ever actually find a pair that fit they are always like four sizes too big in the waist and just don't fit right at all anywhere else and generally look absolutely horrible. it really sucks! maybe jeggings aren't your thing but personally, even though i don't actually wear them i can completely understand why they do exist.

also no offense dudette but sometimes i feel like maybe you live under a rock or something cos surely you must know that most people here don't shovel horse shit on a regular basis, they just put on jeans to walk around and stuff.

I wear belts all the time, dude, but if I don't take out the extra fabric in the waist, it folds over on itself and is hella uncomfortable.

yeah, when your jeans are actually about 3-4 sizes bigger at your waist than they are anywhere else, there's really only so much a belt can do. unfortunately jeans that don't fit right just look like shit, period.

silver jeans are the only jeans i have found so far that actually fit me nicely, but a pair is a roughly $100 investment. jean shopping is really just the worst.

one thing that I've found that helps is that denim stretches between washes. I've got a pair that are a tiny bit small when they come out of the wash, but if I sit down or squat a few times they stretch out. It seems like your butt problem is bigger than mine, though.

My waist is between 2 and 3 sizes smaller than my butt, depending on the manufacturer model. Sometimes I find shops that have things specifically for "curvy girls", but these are overwhelmingly for fat people who call themselves "curvy" to make themselves feel better about being fat, and none of the sizes get anywhere near small enough for me anyway.

Jeggings basically fit me the way all jeans do. I have a mediumish size but but very very large hips and thin legs, so things that fit my hips sag in the butt and legs, things that fit my butt give me muffin top and are still too baggy on my legs. Like I can't win unless I wear stretchy tight things.

Um, no. I am just barely 5'8. Like I said earlier, I have thin legs and wide hips, which often times from many angles makes me look either taller or way shorter.

But uh, thanks for telling me that even the most flattering bottoms I own make me look short and dumpy, it feels great.

the reason I wear them is because I think they look nice, not because they're comfortable, that is just a nice bonus.
