I bet if you googled around a bit you could find a belt exactly like what you want for way less than that.

So you live in Austin, right? Austin's a big city, isn't it? There's gotta be someone out there with a machine to run decorative stuff on leather.
Both my brothers are into stagecraft and theatre, and they have made some neat looking things. If I wanted a solid satchel that would last I would get a proper one made by someone who does that for a living, but I'm pretty sure I could get them to run a cool stitch around on a piece of leather if I asked them. Not that I know anything about belt making, mind you.

Not sure if this is exactly what you want but I found something at least similar for ~1/2 what you said earlier:

Guys, I need some help. Today I cleaned out my entire closet and I realized how many clothes I actually have. I sorted my clothes in piles of keep/get rid of, and I still have a full-ish closet, yet I'm getting rid of two giant suitcases + a trash bag full of clothes, some because they don't fit, some because I don't like them anymore, and some because I've never worn them and I know I never will. My problem is that I shop too much, obviously, and I really need to stop. I can't afford it at all, and it's a complete waste of money - a lot of money I don't really have.

So I was wondering, do any of you have the same problem as me? Are you an impulsive shopper who regrets a purchase afterwards and never actually wear most of the clothes you buy, like I do? Maybe some of the people who are selective shoppers can give some advice on what they usually do, and how to only buy things you've had your eyes on for a long time or something you really need. Let's help each other out here.

I don't, but you should definitely find a consignment shop to sell those at. With that much clothing, you'd at least get some money back.

The stupid thing about Norwegian thrift stores is that you don't get anything from giving them clothes, which is probably also why thrift shopping is not as big here as other places. In Oslo there is one, maybe two good thrift stores, the other ones have either nothing interesting ever or are pricey as fuck for some reason, which sorta defeats the purpose of thrifting. Anyway, I'm going to let my sister have her pick of clothes, and then I'm giving the rest to the salvation army.

Kris, I'm pretty much the exact opposite- if I buy clothes, they become my new favorite thing to wear ever and I have to force myself not to wear it pretty much every other day in case people start thinking I'm maybe a hobo. Then I get a newer thing and the cycle repeats itself.

Yeah, I like a lot of the clothes I buy too, I just buy too many of them. It didn't use to be that bad, it started my first years of uni when I had to wait an hour for the train every day after class, and with the train station being right next to a big shopping center and all I just started buying things because I was bored and I had money at the time. I also get sick of my clothes really easily, buy things I like in the store but doesn't look so good when I get home etc. I just need to learn how to not buy things the second I see them, maybe wait a few days and see if I still feel the same way. Or at the moment, just not shop at all because I really do have enough clothes and not enough money.

Honestly allowing yourself to buy one small thing that's pretty cheap is really nice. It helps you not buy stuff, also start only taking out cash, like, 20 dollars, and leave credit/debit at home.

Well yeah, but I buying one small thing every week would still be something I didn't really need. Also if you're going to buy something cheap in Norway, you'd end up with a plain white t-shirt from H&M, I'd rather save up money and buy a quality item if I need it. The "I JUST WANT IT"-money thing would work great for say, going out with friends and maybe taking a taxi home instead of the god awful night bus, or an expensive coffee like you said. I'll wait a while with buying clothes at least, because I know I have enough at the moment, but I might change it after a while.

Just returned my leather jacket for a 3/4 sleeve tuxedo jacket, a sweet mauvey blue scarf, some long-sleeved tees, a purpley gypsyish blouse, a big dangly necklace and some noisy bangles.
It didn't suit me.

Pants should be tucked into space sneakers if possibly or rolled over the back of the hightop. If they have laces they should be worn loose but not pushing the tongues out. Pushing the tongue out looks arse.
Realistically most people can't manage space sneakers. Essentially you should really only go for a pair that matches your colour scheme. Since mine is always black and green mine work ok.

Rizzo is Doing it Right. Also, I don't see how you can fail with skinnies and combat boots. (Minus skinheads, obviously.) I like them when they are the ones that are above the ankle or mid-calf and are tied loosely. I would wear the shit out of these just because I feel they're still feminine enough to wear with skirts and the like while still looking badass. I guess it just depends on what look you're going for.

Skinny jeans look good on girls in good shape but, personally, I think they look doubleplusungood on gents of any size. No one else think they make guys look mega-effeminate?

As for combat boots, who wants to go around looking like they're prepared to kick in doors all the time? If you want to look nails or 'badass' for whatever reason then, in my opinion, just be nails. Otherwise you run the risk of looking like you're trying too hard to be something you're not, which isn't a good look on anyone. Besides, I find a decent pair of nice trainers are far more comfortable.

I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree. People wear boots of varying styles and I'd rather wear combat boots over boots with heels and pointy ass toes. And in some situations, boots are better than trainers. They're more weather resistant, warmer, and can sometimes be worn places that sneakers would be frowned upon. And really, for comfort, I think it just depends on who makes the shoe and what you need for your feet to be comfortable.

I had meant it as a more narrowly-focused response to:

Quote from: Linds
...I would wear the shit out of these just because I feel they're still feminine enough to wear with skirts and the like while still looking badass. I guess it just depends on what look you're going for.

But, that said, on a wider stage I do happen to dislike the current fashionability of what might be called 'military-chic' for more-or-less the same reason.

hi thread. long time no see.

i have a Question.

I kind of like this tshirt, but i can't make up my mind. this may be baseless, but i am kind of worried about looking like a douchebag in it. I don't wear very many shirts like it with such a large printed design.

I like it! I think the only way you'd look like a douche is if you wore it with a vest and/or blazer.

i dunno man it is definitely teetering on the line of douche-bag. but yeah avoid things like vests and blazers and cardigans for that matter and you should be okay. just be careful in that thing.
