Nah bro, just stating my opinion.
Desert boots on the other hand. I picked up a pair of faux-Clarks a few months back and I love them, aside from being half a size too large.

the 899s are REALLY nice, like if i saw them on a dude i would shamelessly ogle his feet for probably a while kind of nice, but they are still red wings so either way it's kind of impossible to make a wrong decision here

The shorter ones look cooler and are probably comfier too. Go for them.
Are the laces in that picture photoshopped? They look really weird.

I like the 899s. I mean I'd want them in black (obviously) but style wise they look cooler. Also I've worn boots with a similar sole in snow and ice and they're pretty good.
