Soaping and oiling is what makes leather smell, well, like leather. It will probably do a good job with some saddlesoaping first.

If you get saddlesoap, make sure to read the instructions. If it says anything about rinsing or water or anything, they are doing it wrong. Some brands give you "lather rinse repeat" guides and that is not the way leather works. If you want I can tell you how you are supposed to use it, but if the brand is worth anything they will also be able to tell you on the bottle or the package.

I use saddlesoap and leather oil on my boots, belts, wallets, and jacket. You could probably also fix up leather bags or purses with it too.

updating my wardrobe for college via thriftstore. concentrating on dark greys and reds. four dollars each, I'm going to change button placement on the vest so it is form-fitting and probably shorten/hem the skirt:

I like it :)

I bought a purse today! Not that I really need any more of them, but I saw this one in Savers for $8 and I knew right that that it must be mine.

Cool bag! Brown leather satchels = love. I also suffer from a bag-buying addiction... eh, I buy most of them in second-hand shops anyway, so it's not going to bankrupt me.

My favourite bag (this is the only stupid photo I have of it):
