I was staring at those necklaces for a good minute before realizing I didn't actually know what they looked like.

I like the second one more, but I am a dude more inclined toward subtle jewelry and accessories.

The first necklace was ridiculously cheap and came from one of those accessory shops aimed at teen girls.

The second necklace is white gold and diamonds and was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend.

The second is my preferred neck jewelry and I rarely take it off, however it didn't match the outfit.

Everyone? I'm with Fraser, Crocs are never OK, no matter the application there is always a better option.

Anyway I have decided that I could basically wear variations on oxford shirt/jeans or chinos/boots or brogues or oxfords/v-neck sweater if it's cold/shorts if it's really hot every day for the rest of my life. I wish my camera wasn't packed away, I am basically best lookin' dude right now.

What if your boss bought them for you so you got them for free, and to get the better option you had to spend money on shoes you were just going to use for the job where no one sees your feet and you hate that job anyway?

A little while ago I went to a friend's birthday party. We went tubing down the Delaware river. I had not thought to prepare for the voyage, so I was wearing normal shoes and socks. Hey fashionable people- belt or no belt? I would never normally belt a dress, but it came with it. Can't decide if it's a bit too "Jersey Shore Goes Clubbing" with the belt on, or too plain without it.

belted! it really emphasizes your curves and the dress seems to be a bit too plain without it. you could even wear a different belt if you don't like the one that came with it, something brown or beige to go with your necklace would probably look super.

I'm not sure actually! The belt looks really good with the dress, but I think it's sitting a little too high up. It should've been on your natural waist rather than right under your boobs, but because the dress also has a sort of band under where the belt is, you can't really move the belt further down without it looking awkward. It looks good either way though, and the green colour is gorgeous!

I was too lazy to put it through but there are little loops on that band part to slide the belt through, so I guess if it's going to be belted it has to be an underboob belt. I really like tania's idea about swapping for a brown belt, the black pleather is pretty whack.

You can't have that belt that high - it looks silly; even if it has loops for it. But lower would look even worse.

I have a dress with that same belt problem, Manda, except mine does not have an unfortunate band under the boobs. I cut the underboob belt loops off of mine and just wear the belt wherever it falls naturally. You might be able to get away with the same, depending on how much farther down your natural waist is.

I like it better without the belt, but probably because I don't like the location of the belt and also I don't like that belt. I don't really know how you could fix the location of it, but I'd suggest trying to find a different belt, possibly a brown one.

The only water I live near are rivers and lakes and none of them have nice, cushy sandy beaches. They are rocks. Also wet sneakers suck, wearing flip flops in a river is a stupid idea, and I'm not gonna ruin my nice sandals. The water I live nearby has people drinking near it frequently. And I still don't wear shoes, even though I probably should, since the river water isn't all that clean, and there is probably quite a bit of broken glass in the riverbed.

NO. I am in the exact same situation (literally, we work at the same place!) and my feet hurt a little bit every time I come home from work. You may be the prettier of us two, and you may be going to a fancy art school, but at least I've got my dignity.

Also, no, Jens is not in the same situation! He started working there after the boss bought us crocs, so he doesn't have any. Also I tent to wear either thin flats, heels and boots when I'm not at work, which are not suitable for standing up all day at work, so I need work shoes. Jens does not, since he wear more sensible (but also less pretty) footwear than me on a regular basis.

And yes, Jens is definitely the prettiest princess. Basically everything in your post was wrong, little brother.

I wear Crocs at work all day, too, even though I don't really stand up at all. But they are ridiculously lightweight and soft, which makes them comfortable and when I'm wearing scrubs I'm not really trying to be fashionable or anything. I tried wearing other, similar non-Crocs shoes, but they were not as comfortable. Mine look like this, though (in different colors):

So yeah, I'm in the "they have a purpose"-camp, and that purpose is usually not being very fashionable.

I think these are the ones Helen Arney was wearing and I liked them enough to peer closely to see what brand they were. And I remembered the last time we had this argument and had to agree that there are tolerable Crocs in the world. They are not the prettiest shoes ever but they are not the ugliest either!

actually i do have a question

i have these shoes, see and i think they're super bitchin'. the only problem is that i cannot think of more outfits using them. right now i've been rocking them with my black stuff-black skirt and tights and a white shirt or something, or my short jorts/white tee/cropped leather bomber (sans socks). i feel like i can do better and less expected things with them. help!

Those shoes can look good with pretty much anything as long as it's kind of structured and just the tiniest bit dressy. Think clean denim cuffed a few inches above ankle-height and a silk blouse, or a big poofy skirt and tailored jacket (maybe with some of those socks with the lace around the top yeahhhh)

I don't know, man, I could see those shoes being pulled off with some pretty non dressy/artsy things. But I am not great at fashions. But they are fantastic shoes and I am jealous!

Also, to make it abundantly clear that I am not good at fashion, I have no idea where to even begin with summer clothes. Help. Please. Most of my fashion decisions are layers upon layers. And dark colors. I have a awesome legs, but a BIG butt. A seriously huge ass. But I've been rocking these trashy black denim short shorts and chucks most days, if not a sundress of some sort. I've got one skirt, but it's plaid and I feel like I can only wear either a grey or black shirt with it. And I boot awesome grey boots that I want to wear more. And a vest that I was to get more use out of. So..........what the hell is a fashion and money challenged girl to do in the case of hot weather?

That is partially my problem.

Other things I should mention:

1. I walked and ride the bus as my main means of transportation. I live in an area of the city where big bootied goth girls are in high demand, and also rare to find. The cat calls, wolf whistles, and creepy pick up lines scare me. As do the creepy guys who come in to my work, and ask for my number with awkward boners.

2. My butt makes all of my skirts at least 3(but sometimes 5 to 6!) inches shorter in the back than in the front. A coworker once commented to me that she wished that she could pull off longer skirts like I do, and then I showed her the reason my skirt is longer. Because even if its long in the front, I still have a high chance of flashing people when walking upstairs, bending into a cash drawer, or other nonflasher situations, due to the lack of length in the back.

3. Also, since I'm walking/busing to work, I'd prefer something that'll do alright in the heat.

4. I worked in a warehouse last summer. This summer, I'm in a store, so I need to look nice.

Please help. Please.

Emaline, I bet you could find shorts/skirts that fit nicely if you go for the brands specifically made for zee booty, like apple bottoms etc? There is always tons of their stuff at rugged wearhouse type places here, so it wouldn't even be that expensive.
