Hey blog thread!
So, apparently one of my friends isn't doing to great at Uni, so she's moving back home for the rest of the year, which is complete balls. I found out because she told me while we were in a large bar, but she said a bunch of other stuff as well like when she was leaving, but I didn't catch that cause I was in a loud bar. I'm now debating sending her a facebook message enquiring for more information (essentially going 'say what?') but I feel like that is kind of weird? Would that be a socially acceptable thing to do?
Also, freshair (my student radio station) committee had a meeting, and I've been designing posters for our broadcast launch party, and I got a lot of compliments up to a point where a girl asked me why I'm not studying art or something, and since these are all creative people who I respect this meant a lot to me, and I feel like it's upping my confidence when it comes to applying to grad school for a graphic design degree which is something I've been generally anxious about since I'm studying comp sci, and I really want to combine the two.
On that note, my friend's mom works as a chef at Pentagram, and told me that Lisa Strassfeld did a degree of Media Arts at MIT, and I looked into it, and it's definitely something that I really want to get into. So, I'm hoping to get a little portfolio together, and if I can maintain my grades from last year I should be alright for getting in I think.
But then again, I feel like I'm definitely not good enough for MIT. Ahhh confidence crisis!
Also, for freshair, people have been contacting me to design their own private fliers, which is awesome and I would love to do, but really I don't have enough time for this (see run-on sentence in University/College thread), and I don't really know how to turn people down.
Also also, apparently I'm in debt, which is not so cool. I need work to pay me pretty soon, but since I didn't official become an employee until this month, this may not happen this month, so frugal living for me!
Long post! Breather.
