I Hate My Life Thread,

I might've impregnated my ex due to condom breakage 2 days ago. We're both scared shitless. On top of that, I lost my fucking job today.

If I don't get hired somewhere else within the next uh 10 days I'm basically left with no choice but to join the military. I am pretty royally fucked, I really don't have a fucking thing for options.

Love,
Me!

I have three of those in my medicine cabinet. When you go into Planned Parenthood for birth control they give you a little bag full of condoms and Plan B pills. Now I pretty much look like a ho. Whoops.

I've been saying that for seven semesters now.

I'm getting a bit better, though! But only a little bit.

Christmas break is awesome. And I had to skip over 25 pages of blog thread recently and felt a little bit bad, but a busy fall will do that, I guess :/ Had to work on a customer-driven project, in which we were supposed to develop a product and a report of about 200 pages. The amount of work expected was about 25 hours per week (this counts the same as two regular classes), but that is about 20 hours more on average per week than I have worked on any class ever (excluding lectures, I suppose), except during exam time. It was, uhm, stressful.

Hey guys, I need some advice.

I am moving out of my apartment soon(hopefully! if I get this new place), and I thought I was leaving my roommate/friend on amicable terms. I came home today to see that all my things had be taken out of the general apartment and thrown haphazardly into my room. Several drawings, and very important sentimental photographs got torn/crinkled/bent, as well as my important papers box getting thrown upside down and everything is a mess and I am really distraught and don't know what to do. I don't want to go back there until I absolutely must to get my things, but I don't really have anywhere to stay except my boyfriend's, I'd be staying here for like a week or so if I ask but I don't know if that is an okay thing to do but I am really just not able to handle going back there with the fight that we're having.

Also, I was going to leave all my furniture(IE all the stuff in the apartment) there so she wouldn't have to get new stuff, should I be vengeful and try and sell it and/or take all the things that are mine and not leave her anything? Like, all the utensils and plates and cups, I bought, our toaster, microwave, etc are all mine. I don't know if this is the bad reaction but uh help

If she's going to be a cunt about it then you are more than within your rights to take all your shit and do whatever you want with it. When Lunchy moved out it was totally amicable and she still took all of her stuff with her (though she did leave us the cutlery which was really nice of her - Thank you Lunchy :)). If she has decided to be an immature arsehole about it then you should absolutely take and/or sell your stuff. See if you can sell your stuff to her! I bought Lunchy's dining table!! (Thank you Lunchy :))

God Roommates suck.  Even if you are friends with them.

I suppose they might have been busy with other stuff and were in a hurry when they put all the stuff in your room but I don't know why they wouldn't had talked to you first.

Agreed.  I had good times with roommates (mostly).  I became best friends with somebody by living with her for two years.  Pretty much the only people I talk to that I knew in Charleston are people who used to be my roommates.

My last three roommates have been:

One lying Mexican who wouldn't pay rent because he claimed he was robbed (and he is a terrible liar)
One MySpace whore who had crabs (according to someone who did her laundry)
And one really creepy furry who drew pictures of Harley Quinn all over the walls in provocative poses because he wanted to have sex with her. They are still up and creepy as fuck.

I have had terrible luck with roommates.

I don't have to worry about dealing with someone' shit.  I was always an awesome roommate and everyone just took advantage of me.  Never again!

I don't make nearly enough money to live alone. If I were to be able to find a place that had like, water, heat and electricity included for 600 a month I could split it with someone and hope I don't wake up to find them standing over my bed while I sleep with a hardon again (that wasn't even my roommate that was my fucking creepy ass uncle I want him to DIE (argh I am still so fucking creeped by that (he's like 50 years old and still lives with his parents, fucker needs to die))

I was sort of skeptical about how living alone would make me into a hermit, because the past three years I've shared a kitchen with 6 other people, and most of them have been pretty nice, and it was sort of..forced socializing, but it was mostly okay, and I figured if I lived alone I wouldn't get that, and I'm not the most social person otherwise.

This year I was the only one left out of the 7 who lived here last year (one was done studying, two got together and moved in together, two got an apartment with another girl, one got an apartment with a bunch of other friends), and all of the new people suck so fucking much. The kitchen is dirty ALL THE TIME (people have one week each where they're supposed to keep it clean, and it never happens. I am not a neat person, but jesus, it is gross.), and they say hi maybe one out of five times, and the whole mood on the floor is just generally bad.

I don't think living alone would suck as much now. I'm not more or less of a hermit now than I was last year, it just sucks a whole lot more. I should've gone for that little place I considered last spring :(

I like roommates.

I like chilling out in the living room and everyone hanging out 'n' shit.

We're all pretty good with personal space, and we're usually not at home cause we're working all day, and respecting of personal space when we need alone time.

Big change from last year though. Last year I had absolutely shit roommates.

On another note: I am flying to New York tomorrow. There I am going to be hanging out in a two room flat with my parents. Then I am going snowboarding in Canada!

I have run the gamut with roommates. I have had probably a dozen in the last six years. I am still friends with five of them. One of the worst used my guitar to smash goldfish crackers into my favorite rugs. One of the best is painting me a happy robot dancing his way through a city while shooting buildings with rockets.

I am now living alone and while the privacy is fantastic and I don't have to worry about my stuff as much, I get lonely for friends. Very lonely.

Also brag thread I just took a call from AAP, one of the big news companies in Australia.

They wanted to know which video production company we used for a bunch of videos we put out from a conference/forum/awards thing we did last year, 'cause they thought they were pretty well done and they need someone to do some video work, despite having their own video journalists.

Except we didn't use a production company, it was all me. Wooo!

I've never had roommates because I actually really enjoy living on my own. When I was looking for a student apartment I specifically only applied for the ones with no shared facilities, because I don't know how well I could handle it since my habits would probably annoy the crap out of a potential roommate. I am messy, I like playing loud music and I often stay up till like 3 or 4 am. When my boyfriend moved in I expected it to turn into hell pretty quickly since the apartment is roughly the size of an average shed, with bedroom, kitchen and a tiny corner for a desk all in one, but it actually turned out really well! I guess I adjust more easily to different ways of living than I thought, so maybe a roommate wouldn't be so bad when I finally move out of here.

I used to weep to Creep by Radiohead everyday after school after my gym teacher used to wrestle with me in his office after school.

Pretty sure you were weeping because you were listening to Radiohead.

YES! Great post. thanks for not posting your usual moronic bullshit

i am pretty sure i listen to radiohead, because growing up we were poor and lived in a tiny house. My sister and I slept in one bed and my parents in the other IN THE SAME ROOM. Needless to say, we were awakened many nights to hear and see my dad fucking my mom or my mom sucking on my dad. that shit never goes away. If you want to fuck up your kids and completely confuse them, let them hear and see you having sex, that'll do the trick.

Roommates are really just a matter of finding ones you are compatible with. I have had both terrible roommates (like the one in the dorms who liked to watch porn and jerk off while I was trying to sleep) and really good roommates (my current one lets me steal his alcohol and lets me borrow his car whenever I need to). Hell, my current roommate is usually in bed by 11 every night and I'm usually up until 3 listening to music, yet we still get along really well.

That said, it appears that he and his girlfriend think that I am an alcoholic. Their Hannukah gifts to me were a bottle of grey goose and a hip flask.

Don't worry, it's only the first round that is closed, you can still apply. In fact, you can apply for courses throughout the entire semester! If any of the courses are full, just mail the person in charge of things (I can help you find out who that is) and they'll try to get you in anyway. My first semester ever I was sick for the first month and didn't know I had to register for subjects at all. When I got there I still managed to get into all the subjects I wanted with no problems, even though one of them was filled up. Lost a month of classes and reading though, which kinda sucked.

I used to weep to Creep by Radiohead everyday after school after my gym teacher used to wrestle with me in his office after school.

Pretty sure you were weeping because you were listening to Radiohead.

No moleskines! Get rid of my shitty old phone and get a proper phone with a calendar. A moleskine doesn't have an alarm, a phone does!

Agreed.  I used my phone as my calendar and I never double-booked a gig (except when I had already accepted one and the another one for many times the money came along), nor did I ever forget anything.  I have stopped because there are so many things in place to help me remember.

I have three of those in my medicine cabinet. When you go into Planned Parenthood for birth control they give you a little bag full of condoms and Plan B pills. Now I pretty much look like a ho. Whoops.

What. They don't give me a goodie bag. Or wait, do you actually pick up your prescription there? Well, then again, there is a basket right on the counter when you're about to leave full of free condoms.

Also, I know both of these relate to the last page, but jeebus Andy, your roommate is a straight up bitch. If she damages any of your stuff, demand that she pay for it. Seriously. Don't take any shit from her. Also it might be a good idea to box up your stuff and see if your boyfriend is willing to hold on to some of it, just in case she decides to you know, set it all on fire or something. (Considering that's what I'd do to someone who pulled that shit on me... See, this is why I live in a spherical hell...)
