I feel like I should add to that last post. Some people just suck and no amount of patience or understanding will ever change them because positive change comes from within.

There has been a stolen bike on my lawn for about six months now.

It has a lot of my blood on it.

None of this is as bad as it seems but I really should wash this bike and put it somewhere else and maybe find a new house to move into

(not a bike thief)

Haha man, I love that the second they are old enough to drink, they are wasted.

Of the edge kids I know, two got in a fight with each other. One hit the other over the head with a pipe(I kid you not), both ended up in the hospital, and another got arrested for shooting at glass plates his buddy was throwing, from on top of a building. I want to say it was a bank.  Totally batshit insane.

So my mom got readmitted to the hospital today, she got an infection while recovering from her surgery due to the antibiotics messing with the balance of bacteria in her colon.  It's not serious (although possibly contagious), but she's kinda pissed about being back in there.  She wants a root beer float.

I bet if this story was told from her perspective, it'd be exactly the same but with a different tone of voice. People read different things from the same situations. Some people will read that and think you were sorta dumb, others will read it and think she's sorta crazy.
Basically, neither or you are wrong, neither of you are right, you both either shrug these things off as minor perceptive differences, or you let them erode away at your relationship until you're both super bitter about it. Neither of you are mind readers, but I think that the longer you're together, the better you'll begin to read each other and the less often these little miscommunications will happen until eventually, you both may as well be psychic.
All the best!

I am a really patient dude, and she is a really impatient girl. She's unashamed about that - she's said it upfront numerous times. Not that it means anything, impatience doesn't strike me as a vice, necessarily.

The major point is that I just want her to cut me some slack.

What people mean and what we hear aren't always the same thing, so sometimes we get these reactions. It's okay though. One in maybe a hundred people will hit it off with you right off the bat and never say anything that offends you, ever. Everybody else is going to angry or upset with you at some point, but that doesn't make either of you a bad person and you shouldn't make a bigger deal out of it than it is. The next time any of you get into an argument with your partner (or anybody, I guess) over something little, just have a little patience and give them the benefit of the doubt. It's always a better idea to assume the best than accept the worst.

This is another point of contention. I don't really have views on what I want my partner to be, apart from some very general qualities. I like women who have some form of strength more than anything, and she's definitely got psychological strength in buckets, but I feel like she's holding me to some very specific standards and judging me constantly. To be fair, she has forgiven me my mistakes thus fair. To be fair to me, I didn't know I was making those mistakes.

It's not like she's a total psycho bitch or anything - she just doesn't seem to know what she wants or understand what I require from the relationship.

Thought my board was okay, but I guess the bearings decided to run away and have the wheel fall off the trucks in the parking lot. That's cool skateboard, I was wearing my backpack and so I rolled with it and only got a couple scrapes on my hands instead of the usual terribly cut up arm.

Off to Brussels today.  This means no more terrible Christian rock (and occasionally hip-hop), and hopefully no more grade 4 level existential debates.  First I have to swing by the bike shop though, and return the bike I rented.  Hopefully this goes well, since when I was riding it yesterday evening the rear tire decided that it wanted to Explode.  It may have been the loudest noise I have ever heard up close.

Darryl you really do not want to see me topless.

Warning! Bad things happened to me, stop reading now if you don't care!

So I was supposed to drive out to Lockport yesterday to have my fillings done. As I mentioned earlier, I am fucking terrified of needles - when they had to give me bloodwork a few years back, they had to actually physically restrain me. So the whole last month has been me, psyching myself up into accepting that they're going to jab a needle into my gums (assuming it would be the same place it's always been) after gassing me up. Instead, when I get there, after telling them that I have problems with needles (three times, I told them), they just try to stick me with it and I sit up and tell them I can't handle it, and they don't try to help, they just tell me to lay down again and it won't hurt. I ended up leaving.

I went out to my car and just ended up crying and swearing at myself because I hate myself for not being able to take a fucking needle, and have been seriously pissed off at self for the past day now.

When my father asked me how it went, and I explained it to him, he ended up getting pissed off at me and telling me in not so many words that I'm a coward. Then he went on and on about his friends who have toothaches, and everytime he'd start to bring up someone else, I'd say "okay" real quietly and he ended up yelling at me, at which point I turned and walked away, whereupon he decided to run after me, yelling at me that he's going to kick my fucking ass, and I told him that I'll call the cops if he does, and he told me that I have no respect for him if I do. I told him I'm moving out, then, and I mean it, I just have no idea how to manage this.

I sympathise on needles; I don't like them, though I've had to get used to them.  But although I've never been what I would call terrified, I did have a period when, on visiting a particular dentist, I would faint in the chair when he put a needle in my mouth - before he even touched me with it; I didn't even dislike him or anything.

And Darryl, I'm not sending you a topless photo of me.  In any case, there are already two somewhere around the forum...

I didn't outright faint. Over the years I have been getting better, that is, I can take one in the arm now, but getting bloodwork done and getting one or five in the mouth is still bothering me and I wish it wasn't. And I don't dislike any dentist for it, either, I understand it's their job, and I realized later that they probably get a lot of patients saying, "I have problems with needles," so my case probably wasn't going to mean much of anything to them. What should I do...

I can swap an inner tube in like a minute and they cost maybe three bucks. It shouldn't be a big deal unless it's a racing bike.
Those are pretty insanely loud when they go. My friend thought he'd been shot at when it happened to him a month ago.

We are cleaning the drama room before school starts this week.
Someone spilled some water on the floor and paint start peeling so we decided to go ahead and scrape up all 14 years worth of paint from the floor. Now we are in the process of painting the back wall black and scraping up paint. There is probably about 70 layers of paint or so because the floor gets painted a different color for every show. And we do lots of shows.
Also, did I mention that we are doing this as a surprise to the drama director? So we are kind of hoping he doesn't decide to drop by and check on things and see the floor all ripped up and the back wall half painted.

That one hot asian gave me a ride home today. :]

I will also probably get a massive headache because I think I might be sick(!) and I also have no comfortable shoes. But I am not concerned because its freaking Lollapalooza!

I am supposed to take pictures for a blog that my friend and I are doing. Its terrible and mean, but also hopefully silly and funny. We make fun of hipster fashions and things. Like ironic mustaches. Sure it's been done before, but we have fun with it. He prefers sneak attacks on people, but I'd rather just tell them straight up what's going on and ask if it would be ok for me to take their picture. I would hope that enough people see the humor in it, and would not get super angrys at me, but I don't know. He is making us fake business cards that say something about how we "document diy and indie fashions" on our blog. And the business/blog on the card is like DIY Fashions or something. But man seriously, I'd much rather just have a card that has the for real website and has what we for reals do on it, because I mean, its not meant to be cruel or anything. If someone came up to me and was all "man, you are dressed like a hipster. Can I put your picture up on my blog where we make fun of serious hipster fashions?" I wouldn't be offended. I mean, I'd think the people who don't take themselves seriously as hipsters would laugh about it, and the people who do think that being a hipster are serious business would be excited to be called such. So should I ask people or just secret agent it?

I got my rats today. One albino (Jekyll) and a brown one with a white patch on his belly (Hyde), which I understand is probably a Berkshire. They're from the same litter so I'm not clear on how important those labels are, I'm pretty sure they only apply to the colourisation of the rats anyway. But they are adorable and I love them so much. Jekyll seems to like being held but he pees a lot (maybe excited?) whereas Hyde tries to run and jump out of your hands but that's ok, he'll get used to my scent and voice eventually. I'm trying to handle them as much as possible while they're still young, though they have curled up in the bottom of their cage and it is apparently nap time?

Before I put them into their cage I made some modifications to it so it might be a bit more fun for them. Their cage is actually a tallish birdcage so I took the wire floor off and cut it into pieces which I then securely wired to the sides of the cage so there are extra platforms for them to jump off. Hyde doesn't mind jumping off them so much but really doesn't seem to like heights. Jekyll has been climbing to the top of the cage but then doesn't know how to get back down. I'm sure he'll pick it up though.

Squeeee! Rats!

Dear blog thread, I thought my boy drama had finally passed. The moving-to-Canada one, the one I spent three months pining over because he went to South America without us figuring out what we were doing, is leaving for good next week. And now he says he realised he loved me when he found out I was seeing someone else, and that he wishes he could stay and gosh, we fucked this up fantastically didn't we.
Thanks Chris, I just spent three months trying to get over you so I wouldn't be broken hearted when you left again. Goddamnit.

On the upside: I'm so glad I have someone I can actually communicate with now. I'm going to go and see him right now because he is amazing and wonderful and oh my goodness halgalhalgalhalah (also: ginger beard)

One of my closest friends committed suicide yesterday.

I woke up this morning to the call. At first I didn't believe it. She'd had trouble with depression in the past, but she'd always gotten through it unscathed.

She was an amazing person. We were very close friends. She was also the first girl I ever loved (though I got over that eventually). We had a long and complicated friendship/romantic history. But I still loved her dearly.

I honestly don't know what to do.

I got stoned at work with sympathetic coworkers and drunk/reminiscent afterwards with a bunch of mutual friends.

I don't know what to do.

Help.

It sounds like you already did the only thing you can do, reminisce with other people who knew her.  I would imagine doing some more of that, thinking on the good times, would help but I've never been through something like that, my condolences.

Man, condolences. Sorry for your loss.

I finally got a job this summer, at the dentists. I'm helping my father switch old computers with new ones. This includes a lot of fucking around with dentist programs that needs to be installed and connected to databases and servers. And I've realized that I might want to work with computers. I know them, I learn IT stuff with ease, and the money to be gotten isn't half bad. And if I'm real lucky, there might be some computer game making somewhere in my career path. Awesome.

Going on an utterly boring family holiday tomorrow. A friend was trying to commit suicide tonight. Thankfully her mother managed to interrupt her. I hope it doesn't end like it did for you, scarred. I really feel for you.  :|

irst I have to swing by the bike shop though, and return the bike I rented.  Hopefully this goes well, since when I was riding it yesterday evening the rear tire decided that it wanted to Explode.  It may have been the loudest noise I have ever heard up close.

I can swap an inner tube in like a minute and they cost maybe three bucks. It shouldn't be a big deal unless it's a racing bike.
Those are pretty insanely loud when they go. My friend thought he'd been shot at when it happened to him a month ago.

Yeah, it ended up being no problem at all.  I guess I just love to worry unnecessarily.  And I had the same thought when it went.  Heads swivelled towards me for blocks.

Arrived in Paris this evening.  Walked around the city a bit, popped in to a few pretty cool bookstores (found some books I'd been looking for!), ate a quick dinner, then had a wonderful hour and a half walk back to the hostel.  Saw people doing fun tricks with fire in front of Notre Dame, and walked up to Sacre Coeur, had an incredible midnight view of the city, and listened to the raggae band that was playing for a bit.  Wandered a bit more, and now I'm back at the hostel.  Love this city, and can't wait to do more proper explorign in the morning.

Broke it off with my girlfriend last night.

We talked it over and, while admitting we still had feelings for each-other, that neither of us could provide what the other really wanted and that it was just going to breed further resentment. I'm glad that episode is over, really, since her perception of my actions and words caused her to come to treat me like someone that I definitely wasn't.

On the other hand, this is probably going to take some time for me since I still do have romantic feelings for her and while her behaviour angered me, it hasn't caused me to dislike her as a person. I just wish she put more trust in my words and judged me on the flaws I do have rather than ignoring them and choosing ones that don't apply to me.

I really never know what to say in here in regards to other people, because when something bad happens to them I want to send my condolences (if only out of respect) but do not wish to sound hollow, but then feel like a jerk for only commenting on the nice things that happen to people.

So, er. Hi, Jimmy, rats are awesome.

Blaggy,

I went to two art shows today and found out that my friend is a classically trained opera singer and she blew my fucking mind when she sang tonight
