I'm sorry everyone is having Roast Beef days. I haven't had any in a while, so I'm kind of due for a month of depression when everything that I thought was going well turns out not to have been, but for now most things are going awesome.
I've solved a problem in the lab that I've been trying to figure out for months. The solution was crazy counter-intuitive and doesn't make any sense to anybody I've told about it, but it looks like I've finally done something worthwhile since I joined this research group in May (admittedly, through about half of June I couldn't do anything due to required safety trainings/the computer department not giving me a computer for no reason).
One of my bands that I've been thinking about quitting because we never do anything just tried out a new vocalist and she's
amazing for the stuff we're doing. She's also absolutely gorgeous, so that's not bad. She might be joining some friends and I on Friday for some drinks.
If you like science comedy,
here is a stand-up comedian and
this article features the quote:
I wish to thank Monica Gaughan, Peter May, Paul Sabatier, and three anonymous reviewers for their feedback on this manuscript. Barry Bozeman also provided comments. But since he is a disagreeable old reprobate I am not going to thank him! Indeed, any remaining errors are due entirely to his commentary.
p.s. I'm fairly certain that I'm going to fail at least one of my classes this semester. Oh well, academic probation will just make me work harder next semester.
