I love halifax and I don't care if I'm poor because who needs money when you're got clean lakes, and ocean breezes?

OH yeah and great music and art and amazing everywhere. I always said I wanted to city hop a lot and move a lot but damn I moved to a great place on the first try.

Oh man I want to visit this city so badly.  I have never been to the maritimes but have somehow managed to develope an incredibly wonderful romanticized picture of it in my head based on the number of great literary presses and reviews which are published there, all the lovely music, and word of mouth.  The pictures you post help a ton as well.

I'm considering a switch in careers.  I'm a secretary right now.  It isn't a bad salary and the perks are great.  I just seem to have this problem where I see someone else with a better option and I want it.  I work in the financial industry in technical reserch and analysis, and I learned today some of what these folks make and it made my not so bad salary look like the cost of a cheeseburger.  Ridiculous.  So I think I'm going to see how hard these folks had to work to get to where they are with their 6 figure salaries and tons of vacation etc.  I've seen them at their jobs now for months, and I know for certain I work more hours in the week.  There's one guy here who spends maybe 3 hours a day in the office.  So yes, I want that.  I couldn't switch positions internally until at least next July, so I think at that point, I'm going to actively pursue that path, whatever it is.  Maybe I'll set up meetings with some of the folks up here to see how they got into it.  The thing is, I was perfectly content where I am until I knew everyone's financial positions.  Now, with that knowledge, where I am just isn't enough.  Maybe it's the wrong mentality to have, but maybe it's a good thing?  I mean, where else does ambition come from right?

Holy fuck myfingers are so numb I can barely type

So I tried to talk my uncle into letting me work at the Horny Hippie Hangout*. Not going to happen as it turns out. So I ended up driving my father's RV home (because he doesn't feel like driving it) and end up almost wiping out twice and then finally end up spinning around down the highway and finally go off the road into a ditch.

This is entirely scarred's fault, it really is.

Tweak Bird were fantastic.

However, then I made the decision to skip out on DJing and go to a big club where they played some forms of pop music. They played only Trance.

It was a pretty bad decision.

I've come to the conclusion that I really don't like Trance.

So, it snowed a little bit today (I think three or four inches).  Traffic was completely fucked because everyone in Rochester forgets how to drive for the first week after it snows.  However, I got to have a little bit of fun until my traction control stepped in.

I've got a quantum optics final exam tomorrow, and I'm really dreading it, because it's only going to last an hour and a half, which means there isn't time to ask anything that would be useful to ask, and it also means that anything that is asked will need to be in my brain within 30 seconds of reading the question, which is really stupid for quantum.  There's also a short answer section.  A damned short answer section for a subject that pretty much relies on interesting math subtleties!  I'm pretty pissed off about that, but at least I'll be able to get back to work on Monday.  Also, I'm hoping it doesn't snow tonight, thus making me late for my test.

Like, none. I live like...45-50 minutes north of Buffalo and about that far west of Rochester. We sort of nestle where there's not much snow...well, not as much as other places. We'll still get a foot overnight a few times a year ('cept last year...).

The fuck you was in reference to that there's only been ONE DAY OF SNOW and I've already wiped out.

It's a snowy night over here, broseph.  We got about 10 centimeters yesterday (I may be way off, but that's what it looked like), and it iced over so now it's a skating rink outside (and -10C, Hurray).  Long story short: tomorrow I'm buying a hat and some thermal underwear.

Also:  Happy Hannukah!

The bathroom in our drama room was trashed by someone and only a few people know that it was before the teacher locked it. So now, this dude is starting rumors that a student was given head in there. It's completely untrue and it has blown way out of proportion. What the fuuuuuuuuck.

Dear thread,

Today my ps3 stopped working, it has the Yellow Light of Death. Didn't even know that shit was a thing. Fuck. Also a few days ago my cell phone stopped working after I slightly dropped it, what the hell are you trying to tell me future?

Sincerly,

Listening to Beastie Boys and drinking coffee which makes it a little better.

My girlfriend has informed me we're having a Hanukkah pot-luck tonight. I have today to figure out how to cook an excellent brisket. I like this delicious challenge.
