To stay on topic, my friends just got a gnarly tube that's like a foot and a half tall...it's got a percolator in the ashcatcher, two more percolators, a diffuser and some ice notches. Holy hell does it rip.
How do people feel about buying paraphernalia on the internet? I'm extremely paranoid about it, but in some cases I can get something on a website that costs up to 4 times as much in stores.

a buddy of mine bought a bowl of etsy, seemed to have 0 problems with it. i think most retailers make an attempt at being subtle, but im sure some sites are really sketch. i guess just try to find a reputable site.

You definitely want to pulverize the mushrooms to the best of your ability, either with a mortar and pestle or a coffee grinder or just your hands. The closer they are to a dust-like consistency the better. Then, just boil a mug's worth of water for each person, make separate mugs so you can make sure the dosage is the same for everyone, and cover it somehow so it stays hot for a while (travel mugs work great). Also, add lemon juice. Not only does it taste less shitty this way, but the low pH reacts with psilocybin to turn it into psilocin, which gets through your digestive system to your brain faster and makes for a faster come-up and a more potent and visual trip.
In fact, instead of making tea, you can stir the mushroom dust into little shots of lemon juice and take those. It's definitely my preferred way of doing things because you don't need to spend any time waiting for the tea to steep. Also, the comeup starts within half an hour or so.
