Kamelot - March of Mephisto.

The Verek usually speaks the truth. Except when he's lying to safe himself. Then he can spin yarns like no one else. He also habitually refers to himself in the third person.

And I must also say that Opeth rocks.

I definitely know why. Because they have talent. And they do it quite unlike anyone else. And also, D.E.P. is a bit meh at times, but the same cannot be said for His Lordship, Sir Michael Patton. The man is awesome. He is just so cool that if global warming really got out of hand, everyone would just move close to him.

Evergrey - December 26th.

Also, CoB are probably one of the best melodic death metal bands out there, because they've avoided selling out *cough*Soilwork and In Flames*cough* and they have Alexi Laiho, who is rather skilled with the six-strings. They don't call him Wild Child for nothing. Although I've heard he's an asshole. From a very reliable source who grew up in the same town.

Happa-Tai - Yatta! Extended Mix

Yes...I can toss aside my metalhead trappings every once in awhile to listen to a ridiculous song about an exclamation in Japanese sung by a bunch of Japanese dudes who prance about wearing underwear with leaves on the front.

In fact, that's not too different from some metal bands.

But seriously...Yatta.

Yatta, yatta, yatta, yatta, yatta, yatta!

Hehe, I have a mate who's all-time favourite band is still In Flames (though to be fair, older material mainly). Whenever he mocks me for liking any band that has 'sold out' (like, say, old Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir) I start coughing 'Soundtrack to Selling Out' over and over again. Never fails to piss him off a treat.

An ancient law states that all cool hard rocking dudes (and indeed dudettes) must be either a) almost unbelievably meek and self-effacing b) total arseholes. I have no problem believing mr. Laiho is a b.

What about Mikael Akerfeldt? All accounts I've heard place him as a really, really nice guy. And he comes off as a really nice guy on Lamentations.

He's a rare exception, in that he managed to come off as both really chuffed with himself and a really nice guy. I like to think of him as the halfway house ofSwedish MDM musicians on a scale that has Dan Swano at one end and Mikeal Amott at the other.
