riccostar:
I'm pretty sure the issue here is the shaming in general... It's generally considered good etiquette to not beat down on a person for the stylistic choices they make.  Tattoo or piercing shaming would get the same negative response I'm sure.

Platypodes:
I second that.  Shaming is very different from simply not finding something attractive.  And since it's extremely likely that some of the people on this forum have body hair, beards, tattoos, piercings, rat-tails, mullets, etc., shaming those things here is in effect shaming those people to their faces--an easy thing to forget when you can't actually see those faces as they read your posts.

Somebody:
This ship is pretty much...

--- Quote from: Schmorgluck on 23 Jan 2014, 22:05 ---Yeah, I don't rule it out. I can see just about anything happen but romance.

I can't imagine either saying "I love you" to the other. But I can imagine either of them finding the other cool and maybe cute.

--- End quote ---

I would've said that same exact thing about most of the people I've been in relationships with.  Most of my romantic relationships have stemmed from what started out as completely platonic friendships.  You never know who you'll end up with in the future or when.

Is it cold in here?:
Wing-lady story:

A friend of mine provided gentlemanly company to a female friend so that she would get not quite as much unwanted attention as when she went out by herself. She found a way to make it worth his while, despite having no interest in him.

She was quite attractive (a model if memory serves) and women would confront her quite directly asking what she was doing with him ("but he's fat!").

She would look into the distance and murmur "but he's the only man who really knows how to ignite me …".
