--- Quote from: FilliamHMuffman on 27 Jan 2014, 17:35 ---The problem is Martin doesn't take himself seriously, and lacks in self confidence. Lets leave aside his mom's occupation for this. He came all the way from California for a gf who ended up leaving him, leaving him alone in a new place.
--- End quote ---

Which is what led him to meeting all the people he knows right now.  Better to accept what has happened an appreciate what came of it than to dwell on any "mistakes" you've made.

--- Quote ---Tbh, I would be insulted if someone described me as a pushover and his partial acceptance of the term shows his lack of confidence
--- End quote ---

I'm not sure I agree with that.  I believe that part of becoming confident is accepting that you as well as those around you have flaws, so you might as well accept them and occasionally "embrace" them.  Otherwise, you're stuck fighting with yourself trying to be perfect, even though the reality is that being somewhat of a pushover is something quite a few people deal with.  It doesn't keep them from living happy, fulfilled lives.

RE: Today's comic
OH SHIT!!!!

I am literally grinning ear to ear right now.

Zebediah:
So, there's an old Road Runner/Coyote cartoon where the Coyote orders a "Bat-Man Suit" from the Acme Products Company. He puts it on, jumps off a cliff, and plummets towards the rocks below... only to pull out of his death dive at the last second and start flying like a real pro.

And then crash into a hoodoo because he's not looking where he's going.

Don't know what prompted me to bring this up at this particular moment. Really, no idea. I had a point, but it seems to have slipped my mind.

jwhouk:
...Just like Marten's mind has left the office for the day, "but if you'd please leave a message at the tone..."

Method of Madness:
"If you'd like to leave a message in my pants."
"That doesn't make any sense."
"Of course it doesn't, my mind has left for the day!"

de_la_Nae:
And I was *just* looking at that old comic where Dora remarks how he loses coherence at the first nuzzle.
