Hopefully Marten will take this for what it is, and enjoy the fact that he could hook-up at a party without too much trouble - I think if Delilah had just shot him down he'd have definitely gone home depressed "Dammit can't even get laid at a party full of girls. I'm gonna die alone." Cue self-pity and forum-readers kicking him hard for it.
As for career aspirations, sometimes "good enough" is the best you can hope for, especially in this economy. It's far harder to get anywhere career-wise these days, even for determined go-getters like Dora; and even she has just been working to keep her one coffee shop afloat, not trying to build a CoD "empire".

Just imagine, a Coffee of Doom on every corner instead of Starbucks. Could they possibly hire enough snarky baristas to staff every single one?
EDIT: Now that I think about it, did Dora ever mention something along the lines of purposefully not wanting to expand? I believe at one point she said the cash flow was pretty steady and she could if she wanted to, but didn't.
I have an idea of their opinion of Starbucks after they told a guy off for using Starbucks lingo to try to order coffee at Coffee of Doom, but other than that I can't quite remember if corporate expansion itself was brought up or not.

I wasn't going to comment on the matter, but some of us actually do have a bit of a phobia regarding body hair. I know that if I could afford it, I'd get everything that isn't on my scalp zapped off for good. When I have any, I feel "dirty", no matter how recently I have showered, and I can imagine bugs and such crawling around in it.
