His reaction doesn't seem to be the same as that time though, almost surprise at her laugh instead of expecting a laugh like he got out of Faye that time...

This. And to be honest, Marten didn't really want makeouts with Delilah. He just wanted a good time to forget his troubles. Besides she might bat for the other team.
