The white links at the top don't have a lot of contrast. It would probably be easier to see if it were a different color.

Pilchard: my budget limits the snazzy internet goodies I can implement:  besides: 1995 was a GOOD year.  :b

Cesium: thank you and so noted.  Do you think Green might work better?

A medium-to-dark green should probably work well. The background image is mostly light in color, so you'd want something relatively dark to provide contrast.
