iambic pentameter?
This would surprise me

After quick research, I learned that "iambic" is indeed pronounced threesyllabically (eye-AM-bick) and not, as I previously thought (and as it is pronounced in German), twosyllabically (YAM-bick). Thank you for helping me expand my ever-growing cache of useless-in-everyday-life knowledge and congratulations to your formally correct haiku.

Really? In my language we have this way to remember the four most common feet: jambe is a trokæ, trokæ is a jambe, daktylos is a daktyl, anapæst is an anapæst. (Daktyl is a jambe, btw)

I agree that Marten's laughter is ambiguous. It looks too manic for simple amusement at the irony.
Anyway Tai's revelation is a real mystery: if it's true, then only a quite contorted explanation (as has been offered) is possible.
Methinks some plot stretching could be in the pipeline here.
1. Marten explains the 'irony' to Tai
2. Tai quizzes Delilah about it
3. ? ? ?
4. Profit! (or something)

P.S Kudos to Schwungrad for spotting the haiku. I did know know how to pronounce "Iambic" but I missed that one.

Thrillho:
Blunt, unnecessarily crass and highly unlikely assessment:

Delilah wants a relationship but Marten was shit in bed and less interesting once she was sober.

snubnose:
Uh-hu.

New sport: find insulting reasons why Marten didnt qualify for Delilah's boyfriend.

I think Delilah simply thought Marten isnt her type.

Second most likely theory to me is the aforementioned she doesnt want to be a rebound theory.

pwhodges:
Or it could simply be that Tai has got the wrong end of the stick altogether.
