FunkyTuba:
On second thought:
If Tai's info about Delilah is correct, she herself has had that line thrown back at her many times. Perhaps this is her first chance to deliver it herself, and didn't recognize Marten as possible boyfriend material because she was so determined to blow him off this way.
Zebediah:
Theory: Yes, Delilah has been looking for a boyfriend for some time. But not just any boyfriend - a specific boyfriend. Specifically Bob. Marten was just a boyfling to help her get over her disappointment that Bob didn't seem interested in her the night of the party. Now that she's hooked up with Marten, Delilah will quickly deal with whatever emotional shortcomings she has that have been preventing her from having a boyfriend, and she and Bob will soon begin a stable, committed relationship.
Alternate theory: Delilah is just as bummed as Marten about the whole thing. She is at the Horrible Revelation drowning her sorrows right now, and Marten and company run into her there.
Alternate alternate theory: Faye is totally pissed off over the way Delilah treated Marten. Nobody ever finds out where Faye hid Delilah's body, although Pintsize appears to have had twenty-four hours erased from his memory.
Method of Madness:
I honestly can't see Delilah being interested in Bob.
Mlle Germain:
I agree with those saying that Tai may just not have the most current information on Delilah and her wishes. Also, looking for a boyfriend in general does not mean that you may not decide a specific person isn't right for you. And I don't think that this somehow makes it more harsh for Marten.
Method of Madness:
Well it still does. It goes from "I don't want to date anyone" to "I don't want to date you". How is that not more harsh?
