Method of Madness:
Also, Delilah didn't want anything more from Marten, that's fine, but who the fuck is Tai to decide "what it was"?
ysth:
Poor Mark.
GarandMarine:
Damn! That's just Hi-Larious.
Shjade:

On the one hand, maybe.
On the other, I'd say it's actually less hurtful and a point in Delilah's favor.
Bear with me for a minute: going on the assumption that Tai's right and Delilah's on the verge of desperate for a boyfriend, then this opportunity with Marten falls right into her lap, she could have easily turned that into something. They'd spent most of the night getting to know each other, they clearly got along at least moderately well, she had both means and motive...but, because she'd spent the evening getting to know him, she knew it would be basically a rebound relationship, albeit a considerably delayed rebound, given how he was nudged into attending the party in the first place.
I'd say that's good on her for not wanting to start a relationship out of what could be somewhat disingenuous - even if unintentionally - circumstances just because she really wants a guy in her life.
*raises hands* I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.
Schmorgluck:
Thoughtful way to put it, Shjade. If this amounts to Delilah thinking "I'd like to have a boyfriend but in the mean time why not bang this cutie there?" it's actually rather flattering for Marten.
