Well, Angus has an audition in NYC tomorrow, so I guess he is trying not to drink too much. Besides, his goal was to get some advice from Marten, not to get drunk himself.
As for Marten, he has gone into self-pity mode. Being drunk has a tendency to reveal things hidden when sober. Marten is not happy with his life. He wants a more meaningful life, and he wants a girlfriend. The question is how. Will he be able to make changes by himself, or can his friends be of any help?

I think the only time we've really seen him unpleasantly drunk was after the breakup, as linked above. I really hope Steve and Angus will stop him if he gets the sudden urge to radically change his life while drunk - that can only end badly.
