As I am surrounded by comp-sci students, I got word of it a few days ago. So far, I have been successfully resisiting the urge to play it.

Seriously, you know perfectly well that in poetry or singing, syllables with multiple vowels like that are often elided (in the past, even those with consonants - in the music of Byrd and Tallis for instance, the word "spirit" is set as a single syllable, like "sprite", though not so spelt).

2048...  Yes, quite!

I found about it before xkcd, but didn't share it because I wanted to beat it first. I still haven't got past 512 >_>

After reading about the game in this thread, I just got up to 256 and now I've managed to stop playing. As if wasting time on the internet hadn't been easy enough already...
