Method of Madness:
Not if it was in the middle of a sentence.
Sidhekin:
Even if The Ring is in the middle of a sentence, it's in italics.
But it seems to me the articles are title-cased only when the first word of, indeed, a title. The same rule does not seem to apply to names of groups and individuals.
Of course, not many English names of individuals have articles at all ...
... but it seems to me names of groups commonly get a lower case the in the middle of a sentence. And not just bands, either; from the afore linked Oxford University Style Guide: "The Department of Computer Science was previously known as the Oxford University Computing Laboratory." (Emphasis mine.)

Yes if it is in the middle of a sentence.
No if it is in the middle of the title.
The Second Saladin, yes.
The Wisdom of Big Bird, yes.
The Shipping News, yes.
Tender at the Bone, no.
FunkyTuba:
I'm not ready for April Fools this year

Yeah, I'd still use italics, but I'd say the Ring. I guess it's just a quirk of mine.
