Is it cold in here?:
In her personal life, she did have the peanut oil and trout incident, which she was willing to talk about with Dora when they had just met.
Fearless prediction: the impact of Martenmom's past on her getting to know Jim will follow the Principle of Maximum Awkwardness.
toffee-skye:
in fairness, Dora did recognise her on sight, and her dad knows her too.. i guess a little trout/peanut oil anecdote would be more acceptable in that circumstance than first coffee date.
also, with VV saying she's self-employed.. she might have only said "i'm a professional model" or "i do modelling sometimes" to gain some common ground. she did know beforehand that he owned the bakery.
that said, i would like this to go smoothly. Ms. Reed has always struck me as quite a nice lady.
Platypodes:
I would expect that V.V. has told Jim what she does for work--she seems very open about it--and Jim replied by telling her what he does for work. Her telling him about what she does publicly and professionally wouldn't automatically have to lead to his telling her what he does or doesn't like to do privately in the bedroom. The very fact that we know nothing about what Jim is into sexually indicates that he's at least a little bit private about such things, and V.V. might find it a nice change from her work life to get to know a man without focusing on kink right from the start.
