You can't take a piss in The City without splashing on someone's dirty secret - most of the junkies, freaks, and brainless babies don't even bother to try to hide their hobbies, especially after dark. That can make life difficult for an investigative journalist, but no one could ever accuse Yelena Rossini of being bad at her job.
She's found a credible lead - a woman who swears she saw The Beast try to fuck someone with a switchblade. He wasn't successful, but she has photo evidence of the attempted murder. Indeed, she's found the identity of The Beast.
Knowing her life is in jeopardy, especially with this new information, Rossini rushes to find a safe place to upload her findings. The main feedsites are down, but surely there's someone who can work around them.
But in the darkness and chaos of the streets, no one seems to notice when she's shot through the chest, or when a figure in dark clothing searches her body, stealing and destroying the evidence she'd found.
Game and Watch Forever, the investigator, is dead.
