Well... At least I learned how to say Stieg Larsson from that. I didn't know that the double-s in the middle was pronounced "sh". I've been saying "ss" (an imaginary Beijinger in my head is saying "Of course you have; you're from Shanghai!").
(click to show/hide)The stereotype in China is that Shanghai people speaking Mandarin say "ss" when we should say "sh". Shanghai is pronounced more like "Sanhai" in Shanghainese.
