Tbh I prefer being called Sir rather than Mr.  "Mr. [mylastname]" just sounds...wrong to me.  Probably comes from the fact that I don't think I've ever once heard my dad be called Mr., nor my grandpa (he lived across the yard).  Also stems from the fact that to me, Mr. is for old people or businessmen, and I'm neither old nor a businessman, so I'd rather not be called Mr.


Yes, I know the full spelling is 'Mister', but that just looks even weirder.

If you haven't guessed, I've been called 'Sir' exactly once, and the context was a state trooper giving me a ticket
