What I think is unclear, is who initiated the kiss. I had the impression it was Veronica.

Really? I thought it was perfectly clear that panel 3 was him processing her statement in panel 2, and acting on it in panel 4. She's definitely surprised, but panel 5 makes it seem that she's not at all displeased.

Reasons for closing your eyes:
* concentrating on the feeling of kissing and probably other touches by your partner
* relishing the sense of security you have

Reasons for not closing your eyes:
* seeing your partner up close
* if neither of you closes your eyes, you can look into each other's eyes


What direction do you lean your head when kissing?
