QC Volume 4 (900-1100) is NOW AVAILABLE!
jwhouk:
So - y'all getting a copy? I've already ordered mine.
celticgeek:
I'm waiting until he comes out with the signed copies, like next week or so.
Mlle Germain:
First of all: Aren't there usually 300 comics in one book? Why only 200 this time?
So far I haven't gotten the comic books, because the one time I ordered something from Topatoco (Jeph's awesome "Sharks are cute, too" and "Embrace the Future" Shirts as well as the CoD mug), it took ages and I had trouble with customs - this is by no means Topatoco's fault, it's just that sending parcels from the US to Germany apparently sometimes causes problems in addition to being very expensive. In my case, the parcel got stuck in customs for roughly six weeks or so - I thought it had been lost - and when it finally arrived, I had to pay about 1/3 of the price for the purchase for customs. Still worth it, though; the shirts are two of my absolute favourites and the mug is awesome as well.
I'm thinking I might want to get the three old books as long as they still exist in the original format - I kind of like large format comic books with several strips on one page better. Or do you think the writing is too small in those? Maybe someone who has the old books and gets the new one can post a comparison on which format they like better once they have had a look at the new one?
jwhouk:
The answer is in the writeup Jeph had - two panels per page.
Mlle Germain:
Well, changing the format does not necessarily mean you have to put fewer comics in one book... He could have done 300 per book with the new format - as I assume he will do once he reprints the old ones in the new format.
300 strips means that it's a pretty fat book (~600 pages) and maybe that's why he didn't want do do it - but it still means publishing less comic per book than before.
