To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before

Watched the Orville's conclusion to the 2 parter "Identity"

It was freaking amazing! It had a great story with a pretty legit space battle on par with the battle for earth from ME3.

Okay, I never thought I'd say this about Star Trek - Discovery but... now I'm hooked:

(click to show/hide)Spock has led Burnham to Talos-IV, the place where the only TOS episodes involving Pike took place and the place where he was ultimately to be self-exiled after the accident that left him a quadriplegic and voiceless cripple. Talos-IV, the home of the telepathic illusion-weavers. A race so advanced that they were all-but gods.

Oh, and that probe that attacked the shuttle? It was assimilated by the Borg. I'd recognise the look of that tech base anywhere. Worse, it looks like Lt Airam has been assimilated on a software level.

If any non-ascended race could hold the Borg at bay, it is the Talosians. However, they are physically frail and no longer have the capability to leave their homeworld. Who else would they have to send as their agent but their friend, Chris Pike?
The chances that the Red Angel is a far future version of the good Captain have just significantly increased, IMO

Because CBS seems to have the advertising chops of a partially-eaten celery stick, that trailer is geoblocked. For those of us elsewhere...

I hate when that happens.  It's really annoying to have to change the country of my VPN.
