miscellaneous musings
Noxx:
My joints have been making weird noises since I was twenty. I try to ignore it.
nekowafer:
My right knee is VERY crunchy. All the time.
Carl-E:
My father used to hear the change jingling in his pocket when he walked downstairs.
Then he did it one day in his underwear, and realized it was his knee.
That was 40 years ago, and no, it didn't get better.
My knees are OK, thank god, but my spine sounds a bit like popcorn when I bend over to leash the dogs, or touch my toes in the morning. The spinal injuries range from spectacular bicycle wrecks 30 years ago to being knocked down by a car four winters ago to a half dozen falls on the ice just last winter. It's a wonder I can stand at all, let alone walk upright.
And my shoulder... lifting my right arm can be a challenge if when it decides to lock up. Thank my old chiropractor for the stretching regimen that keeps it from doing so. Miss a day or two, though, and I might as well be back to square one.
I've learned that one can fight a lot of this sort of thing, or at least stave it off, but it takes a certain amount of activity to do so. Use it or lose it - if you nurse it too much, inactivity wins.
YMMV. Void where prohibited. Certain restrictions may apply. Please sign the release form before going any further. Discontinue use if you feel any of the following; pain, sorrow, loss, euphoria, contentment, manic episodes, the blues, the hots, the trots, or start seeing spots.
GarandMarine:
It's not the years on the body, it's the mileage.
I am very high mileage >.>;
jwhouk:
Well, yeah, going to and from Iraq & Afghanistan does that to you.
