Twenty minutes, maybe an hour, tops.

I'll need to bring a barrell of barleywine then...

That should get us an extra hour or so...
I'll grab as many cases of Guinness as I can from work.  The kid's radio flyer should be around here somewhere...

I have bottles of various liquors (including single malts) and some bottles of very miscellaneous wines I can contribute.

We'll do all right.

I'm not sure how this started but I like where this thread is going.

A bunch of nerds stuck in a bomb shelter with too much hard liquor? Sure, what can go wrong?  :-D

Carl-E:
For some reason, I had remembered that episode as being TOS.

Carl-E, his mind askew.

Near Lurker:
That episode was so badly executed - the references seemed to be a collection of fixed phrases, so it came off less as a cultural barrier than the translator being inexplicably hung up on this one language's etymology.  By putting a little bit of thought into how an alien culture might view the situation at hand rather than doing a simple cut-and-paste, they could have had a fantastic episode, but the actual episode just seems an inexplicable one-time departure from the show's rules.
