This is not the best weeks for film icons, and she was certainly one of the all-time greats.

Even if she'd bowed out after the work she did with Bogart she'd be a legend.

Well... Arguably it was all downhill from there. From "To Have And Have Not" or "Key Largo" to "Blood Alley" or "Northwest Frontier" was a long step down. That does have something to do with the shortage of roles for women in Hollywood, though, then as now.

Definitely a true legend though.
