I doubt she'll die. Per a post on page one, Alice is an electrician. An electrician might (maybe) work on turbines, so maybe that's Alice. If she dies then she *was* an electrician, not *is*.
That said, maybe the grove is named in memorial of her.

I believe due to the way terminal velocity works, after a certain point it doesn't make that much difference how high you are.
Of course, I don't know if 10k feet is after that point.
