BeoPuppy:
Ah. Well, you go, man.

Thrillho:
So a little update.

I've farmed some shit out to various forumites and friends of mine so that I can collaborate with people. Most people have only been assigned music or lyrics rather than both, the exception being my best friend who I'm just getting to do as skeletal a track as possible before I put more layers and harmonies on it.

My recording lately has been sparse largely because I find it hard to record vocals in my house after work and I'm busy lots of weekends. I think summer is going to find me re-recording a LOT of vocals to do the songs justice; but I have rough mixes done of New York, Nevada and Kansas.

I scrapped the Superman idea for Kansas in the end and have ended up doing something about Westboro Baptist church. It's as real a perspective as I could bring to it because I'm a lapsed Baptist myself and those assholes pretty much ruin it for everyone.

I also have Delaware written, finally, and I'm super happy with it.

I am quite looking forward to seeing what Lolibutt comes up with. It'll be a little different, I'll say that much.

Nice, can't wait to hear it

So this is my song for Arizona.

And this is Delaware, the song that inspired the project and that I've had in my head for ages.

Neither one is necessarily in its final form (my mic is shit, I don't think I can do anything about that but a big re-record may be in order.)

I'm way behind on my schedule, but I keep reminding myself that I'm only actually wanting to WRITE them all this year. Maybe my 2016 project will be recording them all to a reasonable standard.

Anyway here's where we're at so far:
1. Delaware - recorded in a form, as above
2. Kansas - about Westboro Baptist church. Recorded but in dire need of a new vocal
3. Minnesota - LoliButt has sent me her spoken word piece. I've written the music but I need to record it.
4. Nevada - Recorded, again needs a new vocal, about two exes reminiscing over a Fear and Loathing inspired drug binge in Vegas
5. New York - Recorded, about there being shitloads of songs about New York already. Likely opening track.
6. North Carolina - My buddy has written his parts for this, they're awaiting my overdubs.
7. Ohio - Recorded, about space travel
8. Oklahoma - Recorded, a tribute to Woody Guthrie
9. Tennessee - Recorded as just vocals and guitar. It's a murder ballad set in Nashville and I can't decide whether to have it be just acoustic or add some instruments to it
10. Washington - Written, mostly about how it rains there all the fucking time it would seem.

Stoon:
You know, there's been a couple of artists over the years that have stated that they will do a 50 state project.  John Southworth and Sufjan Stevens come to mind.  However, their concept has been 50 albums.  I'm always amused by this because they don't do the math.  50 states, at an album once every couple of years = 100 years at least to do the project.  So they quietly give up.
