BenRG:
@Rghfrgl,

The points is that Faye is suffering from a conflict about what she fundamentally wants and what, on a totally different level, she believes she ought to do and feel. Her problem is that she's told herself that a good person would go with Angus. She doesn't want to go with him. That makes her a bad person in her eyes. So the guilt (not all of it justified) is swirling around her and undermining her emotional stability.

I don't agree with this at all.

I'm curious which part?

Edit: sorry, this came across upon a second read as confrontational... I'd like you to amplify your disagreement.

On a completely side note: that lower panel in the lower left of 2872 is the most evocative and emotion-filled thing I have ever seen in a webcomic. Bravo, Jeph.

--- Quote from: BenRG on 08 Jan 2015, 13:48 ---I think that we're getting to the crux of Faye's heartbreak. She thought she was in love with Angus. She did and still does feel that she owed it to him to try. However, in the end, she's come to realise that she wasn't in love with him. Maybe she was in love with the idea of being in love with him but that's all. Because of that, in the end, she just couldn't prioritise her relationship with him or even his feelings over the place that has become her home and her friends that are closer to her than her family.

Called it.

On Pintsize's depth, it IS surprising but it wasn't alien to us. We've had a look into the mind of Pintsize when discussing his "job" with Momo. It's not that he can't be of help or that he isn't wise, it's just that he doesn't give advice when it isn't needed or asked for. I'm pretty sure there was a saying for that in Spain but I can't remember it.

--- Quote from: BenRG on 08 Jan 2015, 13:48 ---I think that she feels safe to bare her soul to Pintsize because she doubts that he has the emotional depth to understand (notice her parting crack about Pintsize regretting he hasn't got a butt). However, I strongly suspect that she might be underestimating him.

I think Jeph said it best: "Pintsize has hidden depths. Unfortunately they are full of porn."

Given his love for hentai and tentacle porn, he might have porn of the plot-filled persuasion.

Well at least he's not acting like he did when Faye's last (sorta) relationship went south.

...yet.

Here, here.  It brought me back to say just that.

Eye think it's the eyebrow.  So much said (and unsaid) in that slight curl.

That, and seeing Pintsize fulfilling his primary purpose of companionship, even if it's not with Marten.  He really is better for her than drinking alone.
