Guys, okay, seriously, guys... I fuckin' love this fic and I was so excited to possibly hear from the author. It was still cool reading the speculation.

There's good and bad FanFic out there of all types and genres.  Some of my Favorites would, I suspect, be considered 'Bad' due to the nature of the tales and the suspension of (dis)belief that is requried in dealing with them

Yes, I know there are some 'Dogs of a Fic' out there, and, like most I have read them and have gone "What has been seeeeeeeen!!!!!", but there are good ones out there, buth in the terms of GOOD good, and in terms of good as in their ability to make you enjoy them.  That is the mark of a good Fic Writer, the ability for him or her to make you suspend your disbelief and enjoy the tale for what it is.

Akima:
I suspect that readers have been putting themselves in the place of fictional characters for as long as there has been fiction. An older ex-British guy I worked with confessed that he'd written a "Stingray" fanfic in an exercise book when he was a teenager. The difference now is that, if fics are written on a computer, they can be shared - whether they should be or not...

Kugai:
There are some that should be eaten by an Allosaurus

Then there are others that are classics of the particular Genre they're part of.
