I always interpreted May as white with a blue tinge. Jeph did change her colour immediately after the first strip with her chassis. Although Willis seems to have made it a bit more grey.

She's kind of a very pale cyan in this strip. Jeph colors her skin a somewhat darker shade of cyan.
My first car was about the same color as May in this strip, actually.

Yup, I'm seeing pale blue too. It's very washed out, but yeah.

She is clearly white and gold.
