Lubricus:
Damn you, Willis *cough* Yay for Willis!

Tova:
Just to get the obvious quote out there: "Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die."

I am pretty sure I've never enjoyed guest steps as much as I have this week.

Oh, and May is so right about gags that have been run into the ground. Don't get me started.

Geographus:

--- End quote ---
I don't mind it so much when a series/show has a few running gags as long as they also have
new jokes to go along with them. Also when an old running gag suddenly get's an unexpected
twist or something I usually find it hillarious.

pwhodges:
Certainly the specific quoted gag about Miss Sakaki and the cat is not overplayed in the full context of Azumanga Daioh (whether manga or anime).

BenRG:

--- Quote from: Omega Entity on 17 Jun 2015, 23:48 ---Man, I know she said serious injury is funny, but the severed limbs going on there is a bit too much for funny  :-P
--- End quote ---

Oh, I don't know; I think that Dave Willis is showing a keen understanding of what makes slapstick work here.

A foreshadowed catastrophe of this kind where the person said such a misfortune is funny when it happens to someone else is the sort of thing that The Three Stooges or even great clowns like Chaplain or Keeton would have used.
