DORD

<< < (10/11) > >>

retrosteve:
Since we're all overanalyzing:

I think DORD is Jeph's tribute to Ryan North's Dinosaur Comics.  In fact, I think most of the DORD captions could be pasted into the DC template and (with a few Jetsons/Flintstones modifications) still work.

And this is not a bad thing.

!!    :-)

Jean-Jacques Dordain, the former Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA) and advisor to Luxembourg Government on SpaceResources.lu, said:"This initiative is a clear demonstration that Europeans are innovative and able to take risks when the stakes are high. While futuristic, the project is based on solid grounds, i.e. technical prowess that already exists in Europe and around the world."

from here (http://www.gouvernement.lu/5653386)

To keep this more on topic (the above is a bit off topic but somehow combines the amusement of the original word dord from before the strip, the name Jacques, and something much closer to the context of the strip (in order to mine asteroids, some sort of orbiting robots are going to need to be sent there and back   :-o what would their lives be like if they had language capacity? )

in the amount of DORD strips at the moment there is really as much development and unpredictable humor as could happen with as specific a set of art materials in a short amount of time!  i think it may return some day and just at the right time too!  for now it has temporarily concluded on the perfect last line of dialogue!

Forum lurker posting to say that I would love some more dord. DOOOOORD!

Gyrre:
I wonder if the title of this series is a bacronym  of the ghost word 'dord'.

Pilchard123:
It is, IIRC.
