At the risk of taking a joke too seriously, that's a difference of habit between North America and Japan.  In N.A., when our glasses are sliding down our noses, we tend to push them back up by the bridge, while the Japanese tend to push them back up by the side.

It's similar to what was shown in "Inglorious Bastards", when ordering three beers, we would hold up the first three fingers, while Europeans hold up the thumb and first TWO fingers.

Strange, it must be a manga thing so that the face is not obscured in the drawing because in the Anime series I have watched they push them up by the bridge, most likely for easier cell animation even though cells are computer rendered and then laser printed these days by most studios.

Here is the telling thing I have noticed though, if the character is any sort of jerk, or in the process of behaving like one in that scene, they use their middle finger, yet if they are not a bastard, will use three even though it looks weird.

--- End quote ---

That's actually more of a North American thing, though some Japanese artists may have incorporated it into their mangas because American mannerisms might be viewed as subtle ways of being rude in Japan.  I wouldn't know though, I've never read a manga.  And all the megane characters I've seen in animes never push the glasses up by the bridge, always either by the side or by grasping one stem and lifting the glasses back up teir nose.  One character even used the heel of his hand to do it because he wore Freddy Kreuger style gloves.

Omega Entity:
Odd. I think I've only ever seen glasses pushed up by the bridge of the nose in both manga and anime.

I present to you Exhibit A.

The majority are by the bridge.

Interestingly, the majority of adjustments by edge or arm hinge are female characters. This wouldn't be the first example I've seen of rigid gender bars on character behaviour/appearance.

Omega Entity:
Looking at the great internet time-wasting abyss TV Tropes, there's also a far greater number of examples for the bridge than the side.

There's also some reasoning on there on why it might be that female characters are more likely to use the hinges or arms - that they are being careful to take particular care with their eyewear, which may or may not be quite as prevalent in their male counterparts.

This is only a theory, however, and I'm not going to state anything concretely lest I be wrong.

Kugai:
This is interesting filler
